Hello! I’m Haruka. I currently live in Cyprus, enjoying the beautiful beaches and warm climate that I love. I’m originally from Osaka, and I’ve also lived on a small remote island in Okinawa.

I’m passionate about music and love playing the guitar. I also enjoy running, especially in nature. I speak English and am currently learning Spanish and Greek, so I understand both the joys and challenges of learning a new language. With this experience, I do my best to support my students with empathy and understanding. I love meeting people from all over the world and having meaningful conversations. Let’s enjoy learning Japanese together and grow through fun and engaging communication!

Teaching Style

1. I focus on conversation-based lessons where students can speak a lot. We practice not only daily conversation, but also expressing opinions and feelings. I provide feedback on natural expressions and pronunciation.

2. I offer personalized lessons according to each student’s level and goals (e.g., travel, work). I help students improve conversation, grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation.

3. As a language learner myself, I understand how it feels to struggle with speaking. I create a relaxed and supportive atmosphere where students feel safe to make mistakes and speak freely.

I have taken several classes with Haruka Sensei by now. I'm very content! Haruka Sensei is such a nice person and very easy to talk to. We often laugh in class and I learn a lot. She's very patient. Each class our topics are very different, which aligns perfectly with my language goals to be able to talk about all sorts of things in Japanese. I'm still very much a beginner. Her English is great, so it's never a problem for explanations or if I get stuck with my Japanese. She also offers great recommendations for language learning. I'm always looking forward to class.
