Hello! My name is Tomoko.
For the past 10 years—yes, even today!—I’ve been working as a Japanese language teacher at a Japanese language center in Vietnam.
Three years ago, I returned to Japan and have been teaching online at the same center ever since.
My students in their 20s often say they feel like talking with a mom in the classes.
I love:
Growing vegetables in my garden (currently mini tomatoes, sweet potatoes, and komatsuna)
Driving (I can drive large tour buses, trucks, taxis, regular cars, and motorcycles)
Reading (manga, science fiction, children’s books, mystery novels, ghost stories, etc.)
Baking sweets
Calligraphy
Minna no Nihongo (Beginner 1, Beginner 2, Intermediate)
JLPT N1~5
JF Japanese Foundation “Marugoto”

I have 10 years of experience as a Japanese language teacher and hold two teaching certifications. I’m especially skilled in improving students’ listening and speaking abilities.
I teach about 80 students every day, so I’m very good at understanding each student’s unique personality.
I constantly put in effort and creativity to make sure every student says, “That was fun!” after class 💪

Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test Passed
Completed 420-hour Japanese Teacher Training Course
The course is great it's straight to the point. The nuances are clearly explained which is very important and very helpful because they don't really explain those in textbooks.
I'm in the midst of the course and it supplements other Japanese material that I am using to learn right now. I love that I can rewind, fast-forward and play the videos according to my learning pace. The PDF slides are handy and helpful in connecting speech to text. Highly recommended 🙂
This course is suitable for students who have completed an introductory level course. It will teach you why and when to use different levels of polite language (敬語). Even if you’re not particularly interested in learning highly native colloquial expressions, by the end of the course, you’ll understand why Japanese people use them and what they mean.
