My classes are relaxed and encouraging so you can enjoy learning Japanese. I try to balance input (grammar and vocabulary) and output (speaking and practicing) to build practical language skills.
For beginners, I use “Minna no Nihongo” as a solid foundation, but other textbooks are also welcome!

Hello! My name is Shiori, please call me Shio 🙂 I’m a certified Japanese teacher based in Tokyo.

In my lessons, you can learn grammar, conversation and study for JLPT & EJU with a lot of fun. If needed, I can support you in English and Spanish. To speak Japanese with confidence, let’s enjoy practicing together!

I am currently studying grammar with Shio-sensei using the first manual of the Minnanonihongo series. Shio-sensei is very patient and helpful when it comes to building my grammar base. I have watched Japanese series regularly for years, but I have never had the chance to learn the grammar correctly. I really enjoy my lessons with Shio-sensei, and I'm proud to have learnt basic grammar through Japanese-only conversation. After a few lessons, from lesson 11 to lessons 15, I started to feel capable of changing forms to build sentences (TE form from dictionary form).
