みなさんはキャバ嬢について聞いたことはありますか？

Have you ever heard of kyabajō (hostesses)?
At a place called a kyabakura*, you can drink and enjoy conversation with women dressed in glamorous outfits. These women are called kyabajō. The whole atmosphere is sparkly and dazzling, and it can feel like a world with a pretty high barrier to enter. I’m not particularly interested in alcohol, so I’ve never been to one myself.
When people talk about kyabakura, you often hear words that feel far from my everyday life: cosmetic surgery, luxury brands, and high income. For those who admire kyabajō, the dream is to earn a lot, undergo cosmetic procedures, and work while wearing luxury items, whether gifts from customers or items they bought for themselves.
I respect them because of their communication skills. They drink with customers and keep the conversation enjoyable. And customers come in all types: some may say rude or annoying things, while others might be wealthy business owners ordering expensive drinks. Hostesses constantly adjust their approach depending on the person in front of them, using their brains at full gear to make sure the customer has a good time.
When a hostess becomes popular, customers start requesting her by name, and she goes to their table. A high percentage of that table’s sales becomes her pay. That’s how someone, apparently, rises to the top at a hostess club.
But the competition is extremely intense.
To become a top hostess, they have to keep polishing both their appearance and their inner strength. It seems like a job you can’t continue unless you’re mentally tough. Maybe cosmetic surgery and luxury brands are like their “battle gear”.
